4 simplified steps on how to use Epoxy Resin
So, you’ve just bought a Roxy Epoxy resin but are not sure if you know how to work with resin? Well, you’ve come to the right place. The steps to creating your resin crafts are simple, and we made sure to make it even simpler! Everyone has an inner artist in them. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Whether you want to make jewelry, tumblers, glossy finishes or any other type of arts and crafts, just follow these 4 easy steps.
1 - Measure
When formulating our epoxy resin, we wanted to make it as simple as possible to use! The measurement is easy: just take a measuring cup and do equal parts of resin and hardener. But before you start mixing, please use protective gloves!
2 - Mix
Thoroughly mix the 1:1 proportion of resin and hardener. Use clean stir sticks and, depending on the quantity you’re mixing, it can take between 3 and 7 minutes of continuous mixing. The mixture can either consist of only these two components, or you can throw in some of the wonderfully vibrant Mica colors to add a little something special to your art.
3 - Pour
Pour the mixture as evenly as possible, but don’t worry if you get some bubbles. This is a relatively common occurrence and there’s an easy solution for it! You can use a heat gun made especially for bubble removal or, if you don’t own a heat gun, you can simply use a hairdryer.
4 - Wait
Once you pour the mixture, you have about 30 minutes to work with it before it starts hardening. The objects created with Roxy Epoxy resin need to sit for at least 24 hours in a dust-free space to cure properly. It can take up to 72 hours for the products to dry completely.
One of the best parts of working with resin is, surely, the variety. There are many resin uses - you can create just about anything you can imagine: from earrings, coasters, ashtrays, and bowls to protective finish for your woodwork - the possibilities are all but endless!
Our epoxy resin comes with everything you need, so you don’t need to worry about buying anything else. In the package, you’ll find measuring cups, wooden sticks, gloves, and a 24-color set of Mica powder bags.
